Let’s face it: when you’re trying to lose weight, nothing about it seems easy. Do this, do that, don’t eat that, eat a lot of this…count calories, count carbs, count fat grams…etc.

1. Write down every single thing you eat for a few days. Specifically, write down the foods, the amount you ate them in, and what time of day you ate.

2. Figure out what’s making you fat. Are you eating foods in too large quantities? Are you eating too often throughout the day? Are your food choices of poor quality? If you have a few days to look at, you should be able to pick out your eating pattern.

3. When you find a bad eating pattern, do something to change it. Do you normally eat 4 doughnuts for breakfast? Try eating a bowl of oatmeal and fruit. Do you eat all afternoon? Try filling up on high fiber snacks and keep yourself busy during the times you normally eat too much.

4. Add in some exercise. Anything, just move!
